Our Story

Welcome to Buta Buta Yama Creations, where culture meets craftsmanship, and every product tells a story. Based on the beautiful Mid North Coast of New South Wales, on Dunghutti Country in Kempsey, we are proud to be an Aboriginal-owned and operated business with a deep connection to our heritage.

Buta Buta Yama translates to “Two Hands,” a name that embodies the heart and soul of what we do. Each item we create is not just a product—it’s a labor of love, shaped by our Two Hands. From Ready-Made and Personalised items to Pre-Order creations, every piece reflects our dedication to quality, artistry, and tradition.

Our designs are deeply rooted in our First Nation culture. We incorporate rich, meaningful patterns and stories into our products, celebrating the beauty and wisdom of our ancestors. Every creation is individually handmade. This makes every item from Buta Buta Yama Creations as unique as the people who cherish them.

Our journey began with the vision and artistry of Joshua Donohue, whose passion for design inspired the establishment of our gift shop. Through this venture, we aim to share the essence of our culture with people far and wide, offering them a piece of Dunghutti Country to hold and treasure.

We believe in the power of storytelling and connection, and we invite you to be a part of our journey. Whether you’re looking for a special gift, a personal keepsake, or a unique piece of art, Buta Buta Yama Creations is here to bring a touch of our culture into your life.

Thank you for supporting our vision and being part of the Buta Buta Yama family. Together, we celebrate culture, community, and creativity—one handmade product at a time.
